Razer’s reusable face mask breathes the air and amplifies your voice

Called Project Hazel, the mask, and is currently a concept and not available for purchase, addresses “environmental issues for single-use masks, while enhancing the features of a versatile personal protective cover”, according to a Razer press release, published Tuesday.

The company, a major maker of devices known as computer mice and laptops, says the mask uses a medical-grade N95 muzzle; Detachable and Rechargeable Fans; And air flow regulators.

Ventilators can be recharged and sterilized by placing them inside the wireless charging box, which features disinfection of UV lamps.

The company said the waterproof and scratch-resistant mask is made of recyclable plastics, which further reduces its environmental impact.

The transparent design of the mask allows people to see the face of the wearer, and the lights inside the mask activate automatically in the dark. Microphone and speaker boost muffled speech.

And wearers can customize their look by activating two lighting zones with a choice of 16.8 million colors and a variety of dynamic lighting effects.

“The Project Hazel Smart Mask concept is intended to be practical, yet comfortable and useful for interacting with the world, while maintaining a social aesthetic,” said Min-Liang Tan, co-founder and CEO of Razer.

A Razer spokesperson told CNN that there is no specific date for the mask’s release as it is still under fine tuning.

Earlier in the coronavirus pandemic, Razer switched manufacturing facilities in China to make face masks.

In May, the company, which is headquartered in both Singapore and Las Vegas, said it would offer millions of free face masks in Singapore as the country grapples with an increase in coronavirus cases.
