Timothy Chalamet is said to have been looking forward to playing Willy Wonka in a new prequel

Timothy Chalamet is said to be seen playing Willy Wonka in a new prequel movie, Wonka.

The upcoming movie was confirmed yesterday (Jan 19) by Warner Bros., with a release date of 2023 on the cards.

The studios have yet to confirm any updates to the transmission, however Collider Sources reported that Call me by your name Superstar Timothy Chalamet is seen as playing the younger version of the chocolatier, and Tom Holland is also said to be taking part in the race.

David Heyman (Harry Potter) To produce the movie, with Paddington The director is on board for directing, from the screenplay of Simon Rich.

Willy Wonka prequel movie news debuted in 2018, with Ryan Gosling, Donald Glover and Ezra Miller considered to play the title role.

New movie plot details are preserved for the time being. In 2015 Tim Burton re-produced the 1971 movie Basem Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, With Johnny Depp playing Wonka – also released via Warner Bros.

In Burton’s version, Wonka’s father was a dentist who hated sweets, and the chocolatier is portrayed as more aloof than the classic Jane Wilder movie.
