ATHENS – It has been a long and difficult season of soccer in Georgia, and the Bulldogs didn’t get everything they were aiming for, or even hit their first team goal to win the SEC East division.
However, coach Kirby Smart’s team continued to fight and arguably played the best football of the season interfering with the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on Friday afternoon at Mercedes Benz Stadium.
“These kids did more, okay? “Explaining the harshness of the season that began with training last June and included the mental ups and downs of four matches being moved, postponed or canceled amid a structured Covid-19 protocol that requires them to forgo repatriation trips and friends in social circles on campus, Smart said.
“They have done more through the pandemic because they have had to work twice as hard to stay available,” said Smart. “They had to train twice a few weeks, and that means training for Missouri once, training for Missouri again, training for Fandi again, exercising for Fandi again, and exercising longer.”
Vanderbilt, of course, was canceled, so he is now unbeaten Cincinnati in the ring.
The Bearcats worked hard and did everything they could to reach their final goals, appearing in a playoff match and shot the National Title, however, they were turned down.
“If you want to pretend you want an opportunity and you want an opportunity, this is an opportunity, this is an opportunity,” said Bircats coach Luke Fickle.
Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl really promises that two of the most-shared post-season teams are fighting for one final victory.
Both teams are hungry. Both teams have something to prove.
